Blue Friday 2020 Is Coming
An estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic enters our oceans each year. Mass consumerism and over-consumption is the driving force of this epidemic.
Blue Friday is a collaboration of brands and consumers working together to use business for good. Every year on “Black Friday” the participating brands pledge to donate 100% of their profits to a jointly selected Ocean based cause.
In 2019, the first ever Blue Friday, 7 participating local businesses raised $15,203 in one day.
The funds were directed towards the Surfrider, Rise Above Plastics Campaign and were responsible for purchasing 2 Seabins for North Saanich Marina. Learn more about this initiative on our Dock The Debris page.
